Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State
Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic (AAPOLY) is an Ogun State owned institution that is located in Atikori, Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State.
Its history can be traced back to Chief Victor Olabisi Onabanjo’s regime as the governor of Ogun State which was around 1979-1982. Many important personalities of the town tried their best to ensure that ‘The Polytechnic, Ijebu Igbo’ became more than just a dream. The institution was established and situated at the Technical College site during the second republic.
Although it failed to survive due to the government of that era, the indigenes of Ijebu Igbo never allowed the set back to discourage them in any way. They invested time and resources so that the name of the institution could be eventually changed to Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic in 2009. It was named after Chief Abraham Aderibigbe Adesanya, a notable politician, lawyer and activist in the state and country at large.
AAPOLY was established in 2006 and is unarguably one of the best schools that provide SUBERB education to indigenes and non-indigenes. The polytechnic focuses on applying Information Communication Techniques (ICT) techniques to develop entrepreneurial skills in students. The rector of the polytechnic is Professor Jumoke Bukunola Bilesanmi-Awoderu, while Mr Femi Osiyale is the registrar.
