INEC Accuses Kogi Governor Of Double Registration
The Independent National Electoral Commission accuses Yahaya Bello Kogi State governor of twice voters registration, an action the electoral unempire says is illegal.
INEC statement signed by its National Commissioner and chairman f information and voters education committee, Mr. Solomon Soyebi said Governor Bello first registered if January 20,2011 in Wuse Zone-4 Abuja and then registered the second time on TuesdayMay17, 2017 at the government house Lokoja the state capital of Kogi State.
The electoral unempire disassociated itself from the governor's action which is described as double registration and registering outside INEC designated voters registration centre.
INEC went further to claim they did not authorise any of its staff to re-register the governor and outside a designated registration centre. They promise to take disciplinary action on any of the astaff involve.
INEC also said they are handicapped in prosecuting Governor Bello as he is protected by law while in office but has cancelled the governor's second registration.
