Bauchi State Govt- Kinappers will Be Sentenced To Life Imprisonment

The Bauchi State government has decleared that anyone arrested for kidnapping in the state will be sentenced to life imprisonment
The announcement was contained in the newly amended law of the state, enacted by Bauchi State house of assembly.

Signed on March 2017, by the Governor Mohammed Abubakar, the new law provide stiffer penalties of anyone convicted for kidnapping in the court of law.
 According to the governor the crime surge necessitated the new law.
statistics from the state shows that from 2016 till date stated that over 100 suspected kinappers have been arrested in the state alone.The state commissioner of justice Ibrahim Umar, who explained further on the amended panel code.explained that the penalty generally speaking is that anyone who abducted or kidnapped someone will be sentenced to life imprisonment and if through that process a life is lost then death penalty follows
